Undelivered Letter

If I could go back in time, I want you to know that…

You are good enough for me and I am proud of you.

You will make a lot of mistakes and go through many types of failures and yes, you will go home and cry quietly under your bedsheets at night where no one can hear you.

But that is fine, through failure – you will find success.

Your failures definitely do not define you as a person. I think your failures shows your commitment, strength and drive.

You will start to learn to pick yourself up from your failures yes, you will most likely fail another 10 times and start losing hope in yourself.

But that is fine, you will succeed on the 11th.

You will be bullied by other kids, for several years actually. Some people are going to hate you and start little rumours about you and yes, the world is a cruel place and life is unfair. I agree with you on this.

But that is fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you can not control that. If it is not the truth and you know it, ignore it but if it is the truth, perhaps use it as constructive criticism to improve yourself.

Oh and no one is going to remember these petty rumours once you graduate.

You will go through many relationship heartbreaks and yes, it will feel like the end of the world and you will lose faith in dating again. Boys can be so mean but you just have not crossed paths with the one who is made for you just yet.

But that is fine, relationships do not always work out and life is simply not a fairytale. However, you will find him and you will be treated like a princess. Trust me.

You will lose alot of your friends. All those friends who you call “best friends” will not be apart of your life in future.

But that is fine, when one door closes – another door opens.

You will meet so many new people who are even greater. These new friends of yours will constantly look out for you, support you and love you for who you truly are.

You will develop random freckles and pimples on your face and you are going to absolutely hate it. You are going to lose so much sleep just to research on which creams to buy or what surgeries to do to get rid of them.

But that is fine, you are going to learn to accept yourself for all the flaws you have and it will take some time to do so.

Everyone has their own insecurities and you know what, how boring and plain would a night’s sky be if it had no stars? Your freckles are fine.

There is just so much more I want to tell you but I really do not have the time to write a novel right now.

But that is fine, because through all the mistakes, regrets, bad decisions and pain you have put yourself in – you have shaped the person I am today.

You can hate yourself all you want but I will still love you, all the way from the top of your head to your tippy toes.

You can think yourself as a sore loser and an unsuccessful piece of nothing but I am proud of all your achievements, no matter how big or small they are.

You are not perfect and you never will be, and guess what? That is fine.
